Opportunities are what Norwalk Junior Football (NJF) has been providing to thousands of Norwalk youth since 1958. This year, over 400 Norwalk youth (grades K-8th) will participate in our tackle and flag football programs which provide young athletes with coaching and training to help them be the best version of themselves in a fun, encouraging, and energetic atmosphere. For some, it's an opportunity to sharpen their football skills. For others, it may be their first real introduction to the game. NJF uses the best mentor coaches in the area to not only teach youngsters the basic fundamentals of the game but also learn what it takes to be both a teammate and leader. Our mentoring continues off the field, where we require academic success, teach health and wellness, and counsel our young athletes on how to be successful in life.
In addition, our programs are designed to help youth develop mental focus and discipline in a safe and supportive environment where they can clear their minds from everyday distractions. Numerous studies have been published linking sports participation with positive mental health, improved social skills, and various physical health benefits.
Every single young athlete is welcome and given a fair opportunity to participate. We charge a modest registration fee that helps cover equipment costs and fees associated with games, including referees and trainers. Our policy is to never turn away a young athlete who wants to participate, regardless of their family's ability to pay. Norwalk Junior Football Fighting Ducks
